Proje, Kocaeli’nin Dilovası ilçesindeki sanayi altyapısının yerel ekolojiyi ve kentsel dokuyu parçaladığı "Kentsel Metabolik Bozukluk" sorununu müzakere etmektedir. Tasarımın merkezinde, sanayi tortusu ile biyolojik sistemler arasında arabuluculuk yapan anıtsal bir strüktürel omurga yer alır. Bu omurga; mimari hacimleri birbirine bağlayan ana sirkülasyon hattı olmasının yanı sıra, kirlilik ve ses verilerini toplayan sensörleri taşımakta ve sistem akışının mimari bir dışavurumu olarak işlev görmektedir. Tasarım üç ana modülden oluşur: görünmez atmosferik krizi görünür kılan "Kamusal Arayüz", biyolojik ve kimyasal süreçlerin analiz edildiği ve ekolojik dinamiklerin incelendiği "Bilimsel Çekirdek" ve atmosferik veriler ile kirlilik seviyelerini anlık olarak belgeleyen bir izleme noktası olan "Gözlem Kulesi". Duyusal teknolojiyi strüktürel formla bütünleştiren proje, parçalanmış bir peyzajı duyarlı ve çok katmanlı bir kamusal arayüze dönüştürür.
The project negotiates the "Urban Metabolic Disorder" in Dilovası, Kocaeli, where aggressive industrial infrastructure fragments the local ecology and suffocates the urban fabric. At the core of the design is a monumental structural spine—the metabolic backbone—acting as a mediator between industrial sediment and biological systems. This spine serves a triple purpose: it functions as a primary path connecting architectural volumes, carries sensors for real-time data harvesting, and stands as an architectural expression of systemic flow. The interface operates through three integrated modules: the "Public Interface," rendering the invisible atmospheric crisis visible; the "Scientific Core," a research hub where biological and chemical processes are analyzed to investigate ecological dynamics; and the "Lookout Tower," an observation point designed for real-time atmospheric data and pollution monitoring. By merging sensing technology with structural form, the design transforms a fractured landscape into a responsive public interface.
