When we laid the foundations of our department in the early 2000s, we were not only excited about building a future; we also undertook the immense responsibility of sharing that future with the professionals who would shape it. Thanks to the valuable contributions of all our graduates, from the most senior to the newest that the fresh enthusiasm at our foundation transformed into a well-established success story spanning over 20 years. The responsibility we undertook back then not only evolved into a much more meaningful vision today, but also combined with knowledge, skills, and competencies of our graduates
In each of this year's graduates, I see not only high technical skills but also highly qualified professionals with a free conscience, a deep understanding of ethical values, and a passion for improving the world. I believe your graduation is one of the steps taken towards building better ways of life in a rapidly changing and transforming world. On this new journey ahead, you will find many new experiences, new lives, and new people whom you will touch with your designs.
While we will always be proud of your achievements, you never forget that as a member of the Izmir University of Economics Industrial Design Department family, this is also another "home" and permanent address of you.
May your path be clear and your future always bright.

2000’li yılların başında bölümümüzün temellerini atarken, yalnızca bir gelecek inşa etmenin heyecanını duymakla kalmamış; aynı zamanda o geleceği şekillendirecek tasarımcılarla paylaşacağımız çok büyük bir sorumluluk taşımayı da üstlenmiştik. Ne mutlu bizlere ki, kuruluşumuzdaki o taze heyecan; en kıdemlisinden en yeni mezunumuza kadar tüm öğrencilerimizin de değerli katkılarıyla bugün 20 yılı aşan köklü bir başarı hikâyesine dönüştü. O gün üstlendiğimiz sorumluluk, bugün sizlerin bilgi, beceri ve yetkinlikleriyle birleşerek çok daha anlamlı bir vizyona evrildi.
Bu yılki mezunlarımızın da her birinde yalnızca yüksek teknik beceriler değil; vicdanı hür, etik değerleri özümsemiş ve dünyayı iyileştirme tutkusu taşıyan çok nitelikli profesyoneller görüyorum. Sizlerin mezuniyeti bizler için, hızla değişen ve dönüşen dünyada daha iyi hayat biçimleri kurma yolunda atılmış adımlardan birisidir diye de düşünüyorum. Önünüzdeki bu yeni yolculukta sizleri bekleyen nice yeni deneyimler ve yeni yaşamlar ile tasarımlarınızla dokunacağınız yeni insanlar olacak.
Başarılarınızla her zaman gurur duyarken, İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi Endüstriyel Tasarım Bölümü ailesinin bir ferdi olarak burasının da bir "eviniz" ve kalıcı adresiniz olduğunu unutmayın.
