This project focuses on the design of an ergonomic, adaptable, and accessible prosthetic leg for medium breed dogs with below-knee amputations, especially those living in shelters and rehabilitation centers. These dogs often experience reduced mobility due to their disability and face significantly lower adoption rates. Existing prosthetic solutions are often inadequate due to anatomical incompatibilities or high costs. FORTIS addresses these issues by enhancing comfort, mobility, and usability. The FORTIS prosthetic leg is integrated with a data tracking system that monitors daily activity, pressure levels, heart rate, and overall health status. This data is shared with veterinarians and dog owners through a mobile application. The system not only supports the rehabilitation process but also aims to raise awareness about disabled animals and increase their chances of adoption.
Bu proje, özellikle barınaklarda ve rehabilitasyon merkezlerinde yaşayan, diz altı ampute edilmiş orta ırk köpekler için ergonomik, uyarlanabilir ve erişilebilir bir protez bacak tasarımı üzerine odaklanmaktadır. Bu köpekler, engelleri nedeniyle hareket kabiliyetlerinde azalma yaşamakta ve sahiplendirme oranları oldukça düşük kalmaktadır. Mevcut protez çözümleri genellikle anatomik uyumsuzluklar ya da yüksek maliyetler nedeniyle yetersizdir. FORTIS, konforu, hareketliliği ve kullanılabilirliği artırarak bu sorunlara çözüm sunar. FORTIS protez tasarımı, günlük aktivite, basınç seviyesi, nabız ve sağlık durumu gibi verileri izleyen bir veri takip sistemi ile entegre edilmiştir. Bu bilgiler mobil uygulama aracılığıyla veterinerlerle ve köpek sahipleriyle paylaşılır. Bu sistem hem iyileşme sürecini desteklerken hem de engelli hayvanlara yönelik farkındalık yaratarak sahiplendirme oranını artırmayı hedefler.
