This project transforms the McDonald’s Happy Meal box into more than just packaging—it becomes a fun, hands-on lesson in sustainability. Made from naturally sourced, fully compostable paper, the redesigned box keeps the classic Happy Meal look and function while promoting eco-friendly habits. After the meal, families are guided by playful, tutorial instructions to compost the box, helping return it to nature. This approach reflects eco-design principles, emphasizing the full lifecycle of a product—from nature, to table, and back again. Designed to inspire the next generation of environmentally conscious consumers, the box is easy to open, safe to handle, and designed to be strong enough for transport. By integrating playful, tutorial instructions, the design actively creates awareness among kids and families about sustainability and the importance of responsible waste management practices.
