Culina, Starcool firması ortaklığında tasarlanan, şehirlerarası ve uluslararası otobüslerde kullanılmak üzere geliştirilen kompakt bir mutfak ünitesidir. Otobüslerin orta kapı bölümüne konumlandırılan ürün; 40 kişilik kahve makinesi, 8 litrelik sosis haşlama kazanı, sıcak-soğuk su ünitesi ve bu fonksiyonları kontrol etmeye yarayan akıllı ekranı bir arada sunmaktadır.
Ünitenin iç kısmında kaydırmaz servis alanı yer almakta, kullanım dışında olduğu zamanlarda ise güvenliği sağlamak amacıyla kilitli panjur sistemiyle kapatılmaktadır. Proje, Starcool bünyesindeki mutfak üniteli buzdolaplarının müşteri tarafından yeterince talep görmemesi ve bu nedenle rakip firma ürünlerinin tercih edilmesi problemi üzerinden geliştirilmiştir.
Bu doğrultuda mevcut buzdolabı ünitesi kaldırılmış, ürün ölçüleri müşteri tarafından tercih edilen ölçülere göre yeniden düzenlenmiş ve soğutucu ünitenin kaldırılmasıyla ortaya çıkan yeni hacim daha işlevsel biçimde değerlendirilmiştir. Proje kapsamında ürün tasarımı odağı özellikle üst kapak ve ön taç bölümü üzerinden ele alınmıştır.
Culina is a compact kitchen unit designed in collaboration with Starcool for use in intercity and international buses. Positioned in the middle-door section of the vehicle, the unit integrates a 40-serving coffee machine, an 8-liter sausage boiling unit, a hot and cold water dispenser, and a smart display used to control all functions.
The interior section includes a non-slip service area, while a lockable shutter system provides safety and protection when the unit is not in use. The project was initiated in response to the low customer demand for Starcool’s refrigerator-integrated kitchen units, which resulted in customers preferring competitor products instead.
Within the scope of the project, the refrigerator unit was removed, and the overall dimensions were redesigned according to customer-preferred measurements. The newly available volume created by removing the cooling unit was then re-evaluated and utilized more efficiently. The product design phase of the project specifically focused on the upper cover and the front crown section of the unit.
