The Corner: A Poetic Space

The Corner is a multi-sensory exhibition that aims to engage visitors with classical Turkish literature and poetry, which often seem distant and complicated, by deconstructing Sufism, Divan, and Tanzimat poetry through the theme of “love and the beloved.” The exhibition presents visual and written, printed and digital layers to show that Turkish poetry, already semantically multilayered, is not limited to text alone. It marks the first step in a long process needed to re-engage younger generations who have grown increasingly distant from classical Turkish literature, and it aims to encourage their renewed interest.
To this end, The Corner exhibition utilizes a variety of fabrics from each period and thus the serigraphy technique to represent the printed visual and tactile layers of literature that the visitor can feel by touch, while the digital textual layer allows visitors to explore deeply the works with AR technologies and enrich the visitor’s poetry experience.

The Corner, “aşk ve sevgili” teması etrafında Tasavvuf, Divan ve Tanzimat şiirini katmanlarına ayırarak ziyaretçileri çoğu zaman ulaşılamayan ve karmaşık gibi görünen klasik Türk edebiyatı ve şiiriyle buluşturmayı amaçlayan çok duyulu bir sergidir. Sergi, zaten anlamsal olarak çok katmanlı olan Türk şiirinin sadece metinle sınırlı olmadığını göstermek için görsel ve yazılı; basılı ve dijital katmanlar sunuyor. Sergi, klasik Türk edebiyatına ilgisi gittikçe azalan genç kuşakların yeniden ilgisini çekmeyi amaçlayan uzun bir sürecin ilk adımını oluşturuyor.
Böylece The Corner sergisi, seçili dönemlerle ilişkili kumaş türlerini ve dolayısıyla serigrafi tekniğini kullanarak edebiyatın ziyaretçinin dokunarak hissedebileceği basılı görsel ve dokunsal katmanlarını temsil ederken dijital metinsel katman ziyaretçilerin AR teknolojileriyle eserleri derinlemesine keşfetmesine ve şiir deneyimlerini zenginleştirmesine olanak tanıyor.
