This project aims to offer a counter-proposal to the problems such as anonymity, loss of scale and alienation from the user created by the concept of "Bigness" put forward by Rem Koolhaas. Rather than large and holistic singular structures, it is aimed to create a public space at a human scale with a settlement proposal consisting of fragmented but related modules. The project area is diversified with elevation differences, use of green roofs, open and semi-open circulation areas in a way that will offer different experiences and relationships to its users. The spatial program includes different functions such as a neighborhood archive, theater hall and workshops and these functions are distributed among 2-3 different structures instead of a single structure. Additionally, the design is structured on permeable facades, visual and physical continuities and social interaction areas, intertwined with nature. Finally, the project aims to create a public platform where different segments of society can come together, produce, share, learn and exhibit.
Bu proje, Rem Koolhaas'ın "Büyüklük" kavramının yarattığı anonimlik, ölçek kaybı ve kullanıcıdan uzaklaşma gibi sorunlara karşı bir öneri sunmayı amaçlıyor. Büyük ve bütünsel tekil yapılar yerine, parçalı ancak ilişkili modüllerden oluşan bir yerleşim önerisiyle insan ölçeğinde bir kamusal alan yaratmak hedefleniyor. Proje alanı, kullanıcılarına farklı deneyimler ve ilişkiler sunacak şekilde kot farkları, yeşil çatı kullanımı, açık ve yarı açık dolaşım alanları ile çeşitlendiriliyor. Mekansal programda mahalle arşivi, tiyatro salonu ve atölyeler gibi farklı işlevler yer alıyor ve bu işlevler tek bir yapı yerine 2-3 farklı yapıya dağıtılıyor. Ayrıca tasarım, geçirgen cepheler, görsel ve fiziksel süreklilikler ve doğayla iç içe sosyal etkileşim alanları üzerine kurgulanıyor. Son olarak proje, toplumun farklı kesimlerinin bir araya gelebileceği, üretebileceği, paylaşabileceği, öğrenebileceği ve sergileyebileceği bir kamusal platform yaratmayı amaçlıyor.
