Loça: Fish Market & Fresh Seafood Restaurant

Located along the İzmir İnciraltı coastline, this project is designed with a unique architectural approach that aims to preserve maritime culture and integrate it into public life. It offers not only a place for fish trade but a holistic public space combining gastronomy, production, and cultural interaction.
The building form is inspired by symbolic elements of marine life and coastal living. Supported by an esplanade, the open circulation paths, permeable façades, and carefully scaled volumes create a seamless connection with the waterfront. Functions such as the fish auction hall, retail spaces, restaurant, and interactive zones are brought together to serve both professionals and visitors.
This project reminds us that fish is not only a product to be consumed but a cultural asset to be processed, understood, and shared.
İzmir İnciraltı kıyısında konumlanan bu proje, deniz kültürünü korumayı ve kamusal yaşama entegre etmeyi amaçlayan özgün bir mimari yaklaşımla tasarlanmıştır. Yalnızca balık ticaretine yönelik bir alan değil; gastronomi, üretim ve kültürel etkileşimi bir araya getiren bütüncül bir kamusal mekân sunar.
Yapının formu, deniz yaşamının sembolik öğelerinden ve kıyı kültüründen ilham alır. Sahil promenadı ile desteklenen açık dolaşım hatları, geçirgen cepheler ve ölçekli kütle yapısı, kıyı ile kesintisiz bir bağ kurar. Balık mezatı, satış alanları, restoran ve etkileşimli mekânlar gibi işlevler, hem profesyonellere hem de ziyaretçilere hizmet edecek şekilde bir araya getirilmiştir.
Bu proje, balığın sadece tüketilen bir ürün değil; işlenen, öğrenilen ve paylaşılan bir kültür ögesi olduğunu hatırlatır.
