Synthetic Roots: The Karantina Dystopia

“2066 yılında geçen bu proje, Karantina Adası'nı "Abys Corp" tarafından yönetilen distopik bir kurumsal mikro-devlet olarak yeniden kurguluyor. Yükselen deniz seviyeleri ve toksik deniz canlıları doğal tarımı tamamen yok etmiştir. Bu yüzden ada, ana kara bağlantısını bir ticaret köprüsü olarak kullanmakta, ürettiği organik tohumları materyal ve deneklerle takas ederek hayatta kalmaktadır. Bu hayatta kalma stratejisinin fiziksel merkezinde ise arazinin eğimine entegre edilmiş tohum üretim laboratuvarı yer alır. Toplumun baskıcı gerçekliği, bu yapının mimarisine doğrudan yansır. Açık alanlar yerine yapı, kesin mekansal hiyerarşiler ve son derece kontrollü bir sirkülasyon ağı dayatır. Yöneticilerin bulunduğu bölümler, erişimi kısıtlanmış araştırma ve üretim alanlarından fiziksel olarak tamamen izole edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak laboratuvar, mimari sınırların hem bilimsel üretimi hem de sosyal kontrolü sağladığı mekansal bir araç olarak işlev görür.”
“Set in 2066, this project reimagines Karantina Island as a dystopian corporate micro-state managed by "Abys Corp." Rising sea levels and toxic marine life have entirely destroyed natural agriculture. Consequently, the island survives by using its mainland connection as a trade bridge, exchanging lab-grown organic seeds for essential materials and test subjects. At the physical core of this survival strategy is the seed production laboratory, strategically integrated into the island's sloping terrain. The architecture of this facility directly reflects the society's oppressive reality. Instead of accessible workspaces, the building enforces strict spatial hierarchies and highly controlled circulation. The administrative quarters are physically isolated from the restricted research and production zones. Ultimately, the laboratory stands as a spatial tool where architectural boundaries dictate both scientific production and absolute social control.“
