GRAY EDEN: Educational Complex for the Foundation Sector

Karantina Adası 2066”, deniz kaynaklı bir virüsün kıyı şeritlerini hayati sığınaklara dönüştürdüğü ekolojik bir distopya öngörür. Biyolojik bir kale olarak kurgulanan ada, keskin bir ayrışma dayatır: Adaya girişi yasak anakara işçi sınıfı “Shores”, devasa bir duvarla bölünen “Foundation” ve adada yaşayan araştırmacıları temsil eden “Zeniths” sektörlerine hizmet eder.
Proje, Foundation sektörü için tasarlanmış bir Eğitim Kompleksi önerir. Kompleks; kontrollü öğrenme, üretim ve sosyal etkileşim mekânları oluşturmayı amaçlar. Yeni yapılar araziye hükmetmek yerine topografyaya uyum sağlayan parçalı kütleler şeklinde tasarlanmış ve yarı açık dolaşım alanlarıyla birbirine bağlanmıştır. Alandaki mevcut yapıların bazıları korunarak administration ve social space gibi işlevlerle yeniden kullanılmış, böylece tarihsel doku yeni distopik kurguya entegre edilmiştir. Ada içerisindeki ulaşım ve lojistik süreçleri otonom shuttle’lar ve drone destekli sistemlerle sağlanmaktadır.
Karantina Island 2066” envisions an ecological dystopia where a marine-borne virus transforms coastlines into critical survival zones. Reimagined as a biological fortress, the island enforces strict segregation: the restricted mainland working class known as the “Shores” serves the divided sectors of “Foundation” and “Zeniths,” where elite researchers reside.
The project proposes an Educational Complex designed for the Foundation sector, creating controlled spaces for learning, production, and social interaction. Rather than dominating the landscape, the new structures adapt to the island’s topography through fragmented masses connected by semi-open circulation paths. Some of the existing buildings on the site are preserved and reused for functions such as administration and social spaces, integrating the historical texture into the new dystopian environment. Autonomous shuttles and drone-supported systems define transportation and logistics across the island.
