Collective Silence

Mexico City’nin yoğun kent dokusu ve mahalle kültüründen beslenen proje, konut ve kamusal yaşamı ortak bir avlu etrafında birleştiren kolektif bir yaşam modeli önerir. Yapının merkezindeki courtyard, yalnızca bir açık alan değil; karşılaşma ve sosyal etkileşimi organize eden mekânsal bir çekirdek olarak çalışır. Tüm yaşam birimleri bu avluya yönlenirken, dış cephede devam eden açık dolaşım hattı ve entegre merdiven sistemi kullanıcıyı sürekli açık hava ile ilişki içinde tutar. Projenin köşesinde konumlanan katedral, mahallenin hafızasını ve kolektif aidiyet hissini temsil eden sakin bir eşik mekanı olarak ele alınır. Konut bloklarının geçirgen ve hareketli yapısına karşılık daha zamansız bir karakter oluşturur. Proje, Mexico City’nin avlulu konut kültüründen ilham alarak insan ölçekli, geçirgen ve topluluk odaklı bir yaşam sistemi oluşturmayı amaçlar.
Inspired by the dense urban fabric and neighborhood culture of Mexico City, the project proposes a collective living model that brings together residential and public life around a shared courtyard. The courtyard at the center of the structure functions not only as an open space, but also as a spatial core that organizes encounters and social interaction. While all living units are oriented toward this courtyard, the open circulation path and integrated staircase surrounding the facade keep users constantly connected to the open air. Positioned at the corner of the project, the cathedral is approached as a quiet threshold space representing the memory and collective identity of the neighborhood. In contrast to the permeable and dynamic character of the housing blocks, it creates a more timeless atmosphere. Inspired by Mexico City’s courtyard housing culture, the project aims to create a human-scaled, permeable, and community-oriented living system.
