The Flaw
The Flaw is a short film inspired by the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-sabi. The story follows Mert, a young ceramic artist who becomes trapped in his pursuit of creating the “perfect” cup he imagines in his mind. As he repeatedly reshapes the clay in his hands, the process slowly turns into a confrontation with his own perfectionism, fear of imperfection, and obsessive sense of order.Over time, the cup becomes more than a simple object; it transforms into a symbol of acceptance, impermanence, and the beauty hidden within flaws. Through minimalist art direction, atmospheric visuals, and the quiet rhythm of everyday life, the film invites the audience into Mert’s inner world and encourages reflection on the emotional boundaries people create within themselves.

Kusur Japon felsefesi Wabi-sabi’den ilham alan kısa bir filmdir. Film, zihninde yarattığı “kusursuz” bardağı üretmeye çalışan genç seramik sanatçısı Mert’in hikâyesini anlatır. Mert, ellerindeki kili tekrar tekrar şekillendirirken, bu süreç zamanla kendi mükemmeliyetçiliği, kusurluluk korkusu ve düzen takıntısıyla yüzleştiği bir mücadeleye dönüşür.Zamanla bardak yalnızca bir nesne olmaktan çıkar; kabullenmenin, geçiciliğin ve kusurların içindeki güzelliğin bir simgesine dönüşür. Minimalist sanat yönetimi, atmosferik görseller ve gündelik hayatın sade ritmi aracılığıyla film, izleyiciyi Mert’in iç dünyasına davet eder ve insanların kendi içlerinde kurdukları duygusal sınırlar üzerine düşünmeye yönlendirir.
