VEŞM
VEŞM is a project that explores the transformation of Ottoman carpet motifs into a contemporary tattoo flash book. By reinterpreting these motifs through the bold and simplified aesthetic of traditional tattoo design, the project transforms patterns into wearable, personal symbols carried on the body. At the core of the project is a structured tattoo flash book that guides participants through motif meanings, visual transformations, and body placement suggestions. The body is approached as a living surface, where each design gains new meanings depending on its placement and the individual who carries it. Rather than directly reproducing cultural heritage, VEŞM proposes a design-driven translation that shifts motifs from static objects into dynamic expressions of identity. In doing so, the project creates a space where cultural memory, visual systems, and contemporary forms of self-expression intersect through tattoo art.

VEŞM, Osmanlı halı motiflerinin çağdaş bir dövme flash kitabına dönüştürülmesini araştıran bir projedir. Motifleri geleneksel dövme tasarımları ile cesur ve sadeleştirilmiş estetiği üzerinden yeniden yorumlayarak desenleri bedende taşınabilen, kişisel sembollere dönüştürür. Projenin merkezinde, katılımcıları motiflerin anlamları, görsel dönüşümleri ve vücut yerleşimi önerileri üzerinden yönlendiren yapılandırılmış bir dövme flash kitabı yer alır. Beden, her tasarımın bulunduğu bölgeye ve onu taşıyan kişiye göre yeni anlamlar kazandığı yaşayan bir yüzey olarak ele alınır. VEŞM, kültürel mirası birebir yeniden üretmek yerine, motifleri statik nesneler olmaktan çıkarıp kimliğin dinamik ifadelerine dönüştüren tasarım odaklı bir çeviri önerir. Böylece kültürel hafıza, görsel sistemler ve çağdaş; kendini ifade etme biçimleri dövme sanatı aracılığıyla aynı noktada buluşur.
