We are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Izmir University of Economics Faculty of Fine Arts and Design in the 2024-2025 Academic Year. The design profession, the social role of design, and design education are currently undergoing rapid and profound changes. We send off the graduates of the Department of Visual Communication Design of this special year with projects framed around the topics of their choice selected in the field of visual communication design they want to pursue. I congratulate our new graduates who have demonstrated the versatility of the field of Visual Communication Design and its power to create compelling narratives through different media. The field of visual communication design, which is transformed by social, cultural and technological changes and the possibilities of artificial, natural and collective intelligences, not only offers new opportunities to all of us, but also imposes new responsibilities on designers of all generations. I wish success to our new graduates with the hope that they will become designers who innovate with passion and creativity, who are responsible to the society and the planet, and I wish them all a wonderful future.
